No cartoon today, but here's a sketchbook page from this weekend. I made some failed attempts at drawing human anatomy realistically and then gave into cartooning.

 Left out the rippling muscles of the model. Note to self: must learn to draw rippling muscles.

I can't believe I spent an entire glorious, sun-drenched Saturday in New York sitting in front of a computer, watching a live webcast of a conference on comics. This was not my intention. Luckily, I made up for it on Sunday, but boy - I must really love comics.

Here is a quick sketch of cartoonist & graphic journo Joe Sacco on stage with W.J.T. Mitchell at UChicago for #comicson. My view as a virtual attendee:

Family Time

Off my regular schedule, but trying to get into the swing again. Just back from visiting my family in California, where our principle activity is eating from morning 'til night.

Needless to say, I have returned well-fed.
