Nora Ephron Tribute

"Above all, be the heroine in your life, not a victim." - Nora Ephron.

Note: I can't find the source of the quote in the last panel. I read it in my Twitter feed and lost track of it. If anyone claims it, I'm happy to attribute it.

(This will be my last cartoon this week. I'm leaving for a short work trip and won't have access to a scanner. 'Til next time...)

A Status Message a Day #104

Today's cartoon was inspired my friend, Marnee, who said she needed a little more optimism in her life.

Trip to the Genius Bar

What virus? It's like it was never there, it never existed. :)

Hit with a Virus!

Oh no! My trusty Mac is sick with a nasty virus. Cartooning on hold until further notice.

Below: Remixed comic. This is what I think computer viruses look like. Tricky, maniacal little buggers.

A Status Message a Day #103

This was one of my plain text status messages from August 2010, which I illustrated for today. Never hurts to have a reminder :)

A Status Message a Day #101

I will be giving a short presentation this evening on what I've learned from blogging and cartooning for a year at the 6th meeting of the NY Comics & Picture-Story Symposium. Also presenting: Brooklyn-based animator, Tom Eaton.

(The 6th meeting will take place at the School of Visual Arts, Art Therapy Dept. space at 132 West 21st Street (btw. 6th & 7th Aves), 3rd floor studio at 7pm.)

Happy 100th illustrated status message! And over 200 cartoon posts all together!

To celebrate this milestone, I shall sit quietly and ruminate... :)

Blast from the Past #3

Didn't finish a cartoon today. But here are a couple of sketches from my first trip to China in the summer of 2002. Those kids in the alley are probably grown now. It was a sweltering hot day where we were and I liked to see people taking a popsicle break along the wall.

Thanks for the Cape

I'm such a dork ;)

The cape is way cooler than I could draw it. It has a gorgeous hand-woven print which I left out.

Failure Trophies

If these existed, I would totally collect them...
