This is SO true! I've struggled with my weight all my life and just realised (well I've known it for a long time but faced the fact) that women have absorbed and accepted the idea that being overweight (even 10 pounds overweight) as some kind of moral failing. Like being heavy makes you a bad person. I know I have to look out for my health especially as I get older, but having those voices in your head punishing you and saying "you are so bad because you're fat, no one can love you, tubby" does nothing to help.
It's funny, I bought some new mascara after I decided to cut my hair short. I was afraid of looking too much like a guy. Weird thing is, I still haven't used it a month later - though I did buy a few skirts. :)
