I still occasionally dip my big toe into the pool of self-pity ... But the big one for me is getting to the point where I no longer waste energy trying to convince other people I'm not weird, depressed, sad, whatever, for being happily single for 12+ years now. I just exist and let them think what they want. :-)

@ Bonnie Lass: I used to worry about what other people thought of me, too. Then I realised very few of them do very much thinking, at all. And even so, they wouldn't even consider changing their ways or attitudes because of my disapproval--so why should I?
