Broken bones form a callus at the break and it is said the bone is stronger after healing. Broken hearts not so much. Our hearts get more tender at each wound--if we're lucky. I would hope my heart would not become so hardened I was afraid to love. Is it worth the pain of heartbreak? I don't know, but I cannot be other than who I am.
