7 years ago, I started my practice of daily cartooning. It was the best thing I ever did for myself.
Today, I'm starting a new full-time job.
I'll continue writing and cartooning, but I decided to let go of my daily cartooning practice.
It makes me a little sad, but I think it's necessary for me to grow and make room to to take on other creative projects. Maybe this will make me a better artist.
It's not really a goodbye. For now, I'll scale back to doing comic strips on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Thanks to everyone who has read along and cheered me on over the years. It has meant everything to me.
Stay tuned for new and different projects ahead.

This made me cry partially because I will miss your posts that often inspire me to keep going when I'm feeling down, remind me to forgive myself, and assure me that I am not alone.
But mostly it's because I'm so happy that you are doing this for yourself. It takes a lot of strength and work to figure out what you need to keep growing into a person that you want to be, let alone move on from the person you were [especially when that person was so great :)].
Good luck Connie! Thanks for all of your work. Full of life. May your journey be awesome.
thank you for letting us know. I hope the new endeavours open up into wide and new horizons!
Congratulations and thanks for all the inspiration.
Congrats on your next chapter. Thanks for sharing. Keep it up!
I had bookmarked your blog ever since you had featured the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in a cartoon, and since you have an elephant and a giraffe in your banner art. Your art has seen me through some tough times. I hope you continue, even if only once or twice a week. Please know that you did make a difference to at least this one person, in the wide world.
Good luck, and thank you.
Connie, I'm such an ardent, ardent fan. Not just of your art, but your mind and how you think. Your daily cartoons have literally given me life on countless occasions. This post makes me sad because I will miss the daily dose of fresh air that your work has been for me. But I'm so excited for your growth and to see you begin something new. Good luck, you will so be missed.
I've followed your cartoons every weekday since Robert Krulwich featured one of them on his NPR blog, which, according to Google, was in February 2014. I'll miss the daily dose of your art, and I'll be thankful for the Tuesday/Thursday updates as long as you choose to gift them to us. Good luck in all that you will do. It'll be great!
Unbelievably, I just discovered you today!! I’m glad you’ll still be doing stuff two times a week and I apparently have a lot of comics to catch up on.
Connie it is selfish of me, but please don't go...While I'm happy for you, but I will miss you terribly. Through your self-deprecating humour you taught me a lot - mainly to love myself no matter what! I am really so sad right now as if some part of me is leaving me, once again! Wish you all the best Connie. Love you and God bless!
And if someday I'm rich enough, I shall publish your comics in hardbound paper.
Congratulations on your new full-time job! Wishing you the best.
Hi Connie, so exciting that you've got a new job and are heading out on new adventures! Thank you for all your great work, I first came across you when I heard about the Japanese art of Kinsukuroi and your piece was in the top search hits. Have been checking in daily ever since. Hope you will still have prints for sale. As someone working in Higher Education, supporting students with disabilities, mental health etc your posts have been so apt on many days. May you live life in all its fullness! A fan in the UK ;)
Best Wishes on your new venture. You Can Do It. Your comics have found a place in my heart, and I shall especially miss Elephant Wisdom. Spread your wings and leap off the ledge.
