Gut Survival Instinct

New sketchbook cartoon about survival instinct, trauma, coping, and wanting to feel safe. I think our instincts for survival are closely linked with how we experience trauma.

It has been an intense year. I hope you all feel safe and that we'll all soon have access to one of the vaccines. At the same time, let's look out for each other too.

Thanks for reading.

I take to heart your call to "look out for each other".

Will do, and you do the same. We should also look out for ourselves, do something we love, go somewhere we love, particularly after we finish our vaccination series.

Its outside my scope to advise on self-defense. Only to say two things: stay focused on the streets, and to add that we are worth being safe.

Best regards, Robert

We were told that this pandemic would "bring us closer to each other." Not that I've noticed. It should be so, but I don't see it happening where I live, rather people take their anger out on total strangers.

I'm sorry you're going through this. It's really scary; even being a woman is too dangerous. Add race and bigotry and it becomes impossible.
